IAEA Conference on Computer Security

08-06-2015
From June 1 to June 5, the International Atomic Energy Agency held a conference entitled "International Conference on Computer Security in a Nuclear World: Expert Discussion and Exchange." The conference was convened to foster cooperation in the area of cyber security as an essential element of nuclear security.
CCSL research fellow for nuclear security and arms control law, Jonathan Herbach, made a presentation as part of the panel on international and legal frameworks for addressing computer security in nuclear security regimes. His presentation covered the role of legally non-binding instruments, namely the IAEA's Nuclear Security Series guidance documents, in strengthening the regime to better address cyber threats. Conference proceedings will be posted on the dedicated website soon.
